You may have heard about Ohio State fan, Michael Cooper, who faces sex charges after admitting to the crime on camera during a Carl Monday interview. Carl is a C.I.A. (Cleveland’s Investigative Reporter). If you haven’t seen the video of Carl interviewing Cooper and then being attacked by Cooper’s family, you should. Anyway, Cooper represents his Buckeye pride during the interview wearing a OSU shirt.
Tragically, another Buckeye fan made the news today in a apparent murder-suicide. Andrew Brown, pictured right, fatally shot his girlfriend, and then killed himself early yesterday in his South Toledo apartment complex. She was one of Cleveland Indian’s Grady Sizemore’s biggest fans, who routinely made the trip from Toledo to Jacobs Field. Michelle Mielecki, 21, was the co-founder of the fan club, called Grady’s Ladies Sisterhood.
Police said the national attention of the fan club could be the reason Mielecki’s boyfriend shot and killed her Saturday before taking his own life.
“You know we were just doing interviews and at the game and everything, had our pictures taken and now it’s just kind of come to a stop, what do you do now?” said Amanda Bonnell. “It’s hard.”
Other fan club members said Mielecki’s boyfriend was the jealous type and they are rethinking continuing the club.
Mielecki was studying marketing at the University of Toledo and hoped to work for the Indians.
